Together with
Ivo Jansch, our CTO at Ibuildings, we are attending the Zend/PHP Conference in San Francisco this week. This is the third annual Zend/PHP conference and as the largest gathering of PHP users, it shows the phenomenal growth of PHP as the choice for modern applications. Harold Goldberg, the CEO of Zend Technologies looked at some numbers during his keynote talk. Right now, 32% of internet applications are build with PHP by over 4.5 million PHP developers, which makes it the most popular language for internet applications out there.
But there's also a new trend looking forward; More and more companies will be exposing their back-end information systems to answer customer demand. PHP is the flexible choice for these modernizations into powerful state-of-the-art web applications.
So the question is why not write your next business-critical application in PHP? With many showcases of companies utilizing the power behind PHP, this conference certainly shows that PHP is going to play a leading role in the coming years in the Internet community.
