Despite it being Sunday we had to get up very early (or was it late ? That 9-hour time difference keeps confusing me..) Paul knew a nice spot to have breakfast, so after a quick coffee at the hotel we were on our way.

The restaurant Paul had recommended is near Malibu on the Pacific Coast Highway, the road we had decided to use for the trip. Outside Santa Monica the road hugs the Pacific coast and you have a beatiful view of the ocean. And if you are lucky and patient you can see dolphins.

LA is big. Especially if, like me, you are used to small towns like Vlissingen. You can drive on and on and not leave the city. It is also way too big to see everything in one day, so we decided to go and see some of the most touristy things: Hollywood and the walk of fame.  

As said, LA is big and despite our car navigation system we took a few wrong turns, but eventually we managed to get there.

Just like any PHP developer, we at Ibuildings always like to hear about new developments, learn best practices and generally hang out with other developers. So this year we again decided to go to ZendCon with a group from our Dutch and British team. I was one of the lucky ones to go there, but on the condition that I write a blog about it, so here goes...
