The Zend Migration Services are a series of separate yet tightly integrated services designed to help you identify and remove barriers that may be keeping you from migrating your PHP 4 applications to PHP 5.

Understanding the issues

Sometimes migrating to a new revision can cause headaches: poorly written code may cause problems, new technologies need to be integrated, and there is always some breakage that is a normal part of any migration. Understanding the potential issues ahead of time can make your migration effort faster and smoother for all involved, thereby saving you time, money and frustration. How does that happen?

Evaluation & Planning

When information about your current PHP environment is gathered and assessed by experts, and your objectives clearly defined, it becomes possible to make detailed technical and business recommendations specifically to help you achieve your business needs.

Migration Assesment
The Migration Assessment Service involves assessing your application for early identification of code which may present problems in migrating; identifying and addressing current issues such as breakage of normal functions during migration; taking advantage of OOS features; integrating new technologies; and the steps necessary for you to be able to quickly take advantage of the features in PHP 5 through your newly production ready PHP 5 application. At the conclusion of the service you will receive a detailed report which identifies issues and makes recommendations for resolving them, as well as a recommended project plan with next steps. 

Migration Enablement
The Migration Enablement Service provides you with an experienced Ibuildings consultant for on site mentoring of your developers as well as training/hands on practice in a small, individualized setting. The result of the service will be a shorter learning curve for your developers, with a faster time to implementation for additional features in your PHP 5 applications. 

Migration Implementation
The Migration Implementation Services, which builds on the recommendations made in the Assessment Service, and results in the implementation of the recommendations leaving you with a production ready PHP 5 application. At the conclusion of the service, you will have migrated your application to PHP 5, allowing you to take advantage of new features, with decreased maintenance complexity and increased stability of the application. In addition, you will have documentation of the changes that you made to the application.

Fixed price

The Assessment and Enablement Services area fixed price services (limited to a code base of 50,000 Lines of Code or less). For larger applications ask for a custom quote. The Implementation Service is custom quote only.
